Dr. Goldberg is dual board-certified in both General Adult and Forensic Psychiatry. He treats patients in Southern California and has served as an expert witness or legal consultant in multiple states and internationally. Dr. Goldberg's practice focuses heavily on the management of treatment-resistant depression. Dr. Goldberg is experienced in the use of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, in-office intranasal Ketamine, as well as the safe administration of at-home Ketamine. In addition, Dr. Goldberg is the former medical director of a REMS-certified Spravato (esketamine) clinic in Los Angeles, California.
Dr. Goldberg is a clinical instructor of Psychiatry in the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine, where he supervises residents in the UCLA Mood Disorders Clinic.
Dr. Goldberg completed his medical training at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine, where he simultaneously earned a master’s degree in Medical Humanities and Bioethics. He completed his residency training in General Adult Psychiatry at the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior, where he served as Chief Resident of Inpatient Psychiatry at UCLA's renowned Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital. In this role, he specialized in the treatment of complex illness and taught a course to residents on the diagnosis and pharmacologic management of difficult-to-treat cases. He has also served in multiple other teaching roles, delivering lectures to medical students and residents on the philosophy of medicine, psychiatric ethics and forensic issues. Dr. Goldberg completed a specialized fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry at the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior in 2021.
Dr. Goldberg is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and is certified in TMS through the Clinical TMS Society. He is a member of the Southern California Psychiatric Society, the American Psychiatric Association, the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law, and the Clinical TMS Society. He has also served as a member of the ethics committee for the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law.
Dr. Goldberg is a member of The American Society of Ketamine Physcians, Psychotherapists and Practitioners (ASKP3)
